The Ministry of Science and Technology Center for Global Affairs and Science Engagement, Taiwan (MOST GASE) is a mandate office operated by National Taiwan University to foster international cooperation and partnership in science & technology. Our main role is to promote Taiwan's engagement with international research community while nurture and empower local researchers.
The operation of MOST GASE is based on the consultation from its inter-institutional, inter-disciplinary, and inter-sectional expert network. As a mandate office of MOST, we continue to leverage its internal and external resources to promote Taiwan’s R&D brand. While initiating industrial collaboration, social innovation, and forming partnerships with higher education and research institutions worldwide, the Center strives to create an ecosystem to integrate Taiwan’s Science and Technology diplomacy efforts.
MOST GASE continues to build a solid R&D brand and elevate Taiwan’s R&D visibility in the world through our monthly newsletter, website, and social media platforms. The Center also holds international events and academic conferences to cultivate talents and strengthen the relationship between Taiwan and the international R&D community.
GASE VISION
MOST GASE carries out its mission based on “5+2 Industrial Innovation Plan” and the “DIGI+ program: Digital Nation and Innovative Economic Development Program” to promote the inter-disciplinary development - biotechnology and health-care, digital transformation, cyber security, semiconductor program, aerospace industry, and improving internet infrastructure among public and private sectors.
GASE MISSION
MOST GASE's mission is based on three main pillars of operation, “Promote Taiwan's R&D Brands”, “Increase International S&T Collaborations” and “Cultivate Global Talents”. The center also plans “Haido Series” events to focus on the country itself and reinforce Taiwan's R&D power locally and internationally.
E.SUN Foundation, established in 1994, gathering the efforts from all E.SUN employees, fulfills its promise to this land. It implements its corporate culture of gratitude, and follows the 3i strategies-innovation, integration, influence, to develop in the field of art and literature, reading, cultural and creative, and environmental protection. To achieve its goal of Love and care, as well as sustainable development, E.SUN foundation will continue to devote its recourses on the areas which are most needed, and encourage more people to participate and contribute to the society.
The Far Eastern Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation has always adhered to its founding mission ”Technology and Innovation” to aggressively promote discussion on major scientific and technological issues and topics, and to encourage scientific talents to engage in innovation. It has organized Y. Z. Hsu Science Award regularly since 2002 and has sponsored many seminars and forums related to science and technology.
To advance local science and technology education, the Foundation took the initiative to partner with the Department of Physics of National Taiwan Normal University to host Y. Z. Hsu Cup -Taiwan Young Physicists’ Tournament for senior high school students. In addition, it also holds Y. Z. Hsu Innovation Forum regularly. The aim is to promote science and technology education in the society through collaboration with all kinds of media.

In 2016, Cathay Life Insurance became Asia's first life insurance company to comply with UNEP FI's Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI). We implement corporate sustainability with due consideration to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues, with the hope of integrating the company’s core competencies and becoming a sustainable enterprise that uses its influence to bring happiness to society. In order to continue to develop overseas markets, we have established subsidiaries in China and Vietnam in 2005 and 2008 respectively, becoming the first Taiwan insurer with a presence in those two markets, and we plan to continue our business expansion efforts.
Looking into the future, we will continue to seek growth and steady profits, actively employ technology-linked products and services, adhere to the philosophy of “What if We Could”, and continue to achieve innovative breakthroughs, implement fair customer treatment, and optimize customized service experience, as we advance towards becoming a “leading financial institution in the Asia-Pacific region”.
